Baltimore-based Red Hawk, LLC is proud to announce that Tony Thorne has joined the company as Product Development Engineer. The hiring of Thorne, the highly-respected former VP of Product and Business Development at Alltrax Inc., brings all-important design and engineering capabilities in house, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to continuous product development and improvement.
Thorne’s reputation for product innovation is well earned over 30 years in power electronics, including the last 15 in the golf car industry at Alltrax, where his work was instrumental in increasing vehicle range, speed and safety. “Having Tony join our team is a game changer for Red Hawk,” says owner Gillet Boyce. “It exponentially increases our ability to deliver the kinds of products that our dealers and end users want, and more importantly, products they never even imagined.”
In his new role, Thorne will be building on a shared history with Red Hawk, with whom he has forged a strong working relationship over his years in the industry. VP of Sales and Marketing Duffey Pitzer enthuses, “Tony is a great combination of creative and analytical, and he thrives on a challenge. Our whole team is excited to have him on board; he has an enthusiasm for the design and development process that’s infectious.”
Thorne acknowledges the compliment and returns it. “I do look at every problem and every limitation as a puzzle to be solved. Whenever I hear no, I say ‘why not?’. And that’s what brought me to Red Hawk. Gillet is an excellent businessman, a visionary, and he and Duffey have built a formidable team who are continually driving forward. It’s very exciting to think what great things we are going to bring to the industry.”
Thorne, a U.S. Navy veteran and lifelong electronics enthusiast, resides in Oregon with his wife Sandy.
